Thank you for the Rhubarb!

While I was out for a walk yesterday, some dear friend/family dropped off a batch of fresh-from-the-garden Rhubarb! Hope I get a call or note and have a chance to say "Thank You" in person to the mystery gifter!

Back in the day, my Grandmother Alice Bell Royce Marcum would put on her floppy sun hat and lead us out to the patch where big dark green leaves sprouted from long stems, pulling them toward the ground.

With her butcher knife, she'd harvest the pretty green and pink stalks and guide us back into her kitchen. Before I knew it, she turned the "pie plant" stalks into a sweet, tangy, juicy filling surrounded by buttery cobbler crust - a bit of heaven.

Thank you, it made my day,
Linda Waggener
