James (J.C.) McFarland, 62, Russell Springs, KY (1958-2021) James "J.C." McFarland, passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center, in Somerset. He was 62 years of age. Funeral services are scheduled for NoonCT on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N. Main St., Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Joe Gosser and Bro. Alan Voils officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pmCT to 8pmCT on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home. Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings are required. Born on August 19, 1958, in Hammond, Indiana, he was the son of Chesley "Pete" and Lofie Gosser McFarland. J.C. grew up helping his father build barns. He raised tobacco for many years. J.C. was certified electrician. Throughout his career, he worked at Fruit of the Loom, Superior Battery, and Tantus Tobacco and Stephens Pipe and Steel. J.C. was a jack of all trades who enjoyed tinkering and fixing things. He loved spending time with his family and fishing, especially with his fishing buddy, Arielle. He was a faithful member of Pine Grove United Baptist Church and enjoyed singing and picking the guitar. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Diana Johnson McFarland; his son, Joey (Jenna) McFarland, of Russell Springs; his mother, Lofie McFarland, of Russell Springs; his sister, Joyce (Alan) Voils, of Russell Springs; his granddaughter, Arielle Burton, of Russell Springs; and several nieces and nephews. J.C. is preceded in death by his father, Pete McFarland; and his daughter, Kristi Dawn Burton. James J.C. McFarland's arrangements are entrusted to Bernard Funeral Home.
