By Brady Budke

A total of 20 Lindsey Wilson football players earned Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Academic All-Conference honors, conference officials announced on Wednesday.

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status.

Michael Burdick, Cullen Cox, Eli Cross, Brandon Davis, Bryan Dickerson, Peyton Doles, Cameron Dukes, Gavin Foushee, Joe Gressette, Jerome Jones Jr., Johnathan Lutz, Jeremiah Malone, Will Nalley, Dawson Oliver, Malachi Rogan, Blake Russell, Ian Sauter, Eli Sherrard, Cameron Thurman, and Greg Tuggle all earned a spot on this years list.

This marks the fourth time Dukes has corralled this honor. It is the third time Cox, Cross, Gressette, and Oliver have been selected to the list. This marks the second time for Davis, Dickerson, Lutz, Nalley, Rogan, Sauter, Thurman, and Tuggle. It is the first career all-conference honor for Burdick, Doles, Foushee, Jones Jr., Malone, Russell, and Sherrard.

The Lindsey Wilson football team is set to open the NAIA Football Championship Series Playoffs with a first round matchup at Blue Raider Stadium against Bethel (KS) on Saturday at 12:30pmCT.
