LWC Men's Soccer faces Cumberlands in MSC Semifinals By Kyle Jackson The No. 2-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team continues their pursuit of a 15th Mid-South Conference Tournament championship on Saturday when they square off with Cumberlands (KY) in the quarterfinals at 3pmCT. Live video and live stats will be available for all matches taking place Saturday on the campus of Campbellsville University. Tickets for the events will be available and can be purchased through Hometown Ticketing. The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (9-2-2, 8-1-2 MSC) earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament after finishing second in the conference standings at the conclusion of the regular season and move onto the semifinals after defeating Life (Ga.) 2-0 in the quarterfinal match on Friday. For the Blue Raiders this season, senior midfielder Cyrus Harmon serves as the anchor for the team's offense, leading the team with 12 goals, 29 points, 45 total shots, and 22 shots on goal. Harmon currently averages 0.92 goals per match, which ranks third in the Mid-South Conference. Senior defender Neville Morgan has recorded a team-high six assists this season, averaging 0.46 per game, the fourth-best in the MSC. On defense, senior goalkeeper David Coffey leads the team with 27 saves on the season, has recorded three shutouts, and currently has a goal against average of 1.03, the fourth-best in the conference. As a team the Blue Raiders have outscored their opponents 35-13 this season, averaging 2.85 goals per game and 2.08 assists per game, the second-best in each category in the conference. The No. 3-seeded Cumberlands men's soccer team (9-5-2, 8-2-1 MSC) moved onto the semifinals Friday evening after defeating Martin Methodist (Tenn.) 4-1. Sergio Infantes Castell and Rodrigo Riveros scored two goals each to see the Patriots into the next round of the tournament after the RedHawks scored just two minutes into the match. For the Patriots this season, the team's offense is led by senior Sergio Infantes Castell who has eight goals, six assists, 18 points, 51 shots, and 22 shots on goal and leads the team in both goals scored and assists this season. On defense, sophomore goalkeeper Akililu Zambataro leads the team with 37 saves on the season, has recorded four shutouts, and currently has a goal against average of 0.85, the second-best in the conference. As a team, the Patriots have outscored their opponents 34-12 this season, averaging 2.13 goals per game and 2.00 assists per game. The regular-season matchup between the two sides played on February 23 in Blue Raider Stadium was a stalemate, finishing 0-0 after overtime. It was the Blue Raiders first tie of the season.
