LWC Men's Soccer faces no. 7-seed Life next in MSC Tournament

The No. 2-seeded Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team begins their pursuit of a 15th Mid-South Conference Tournament championship on Friday when they square off with Life (GA) in the quarterfinals at 4pmCT.

Live video and live stats will be available for all matches taking place on Friday and Saturday on the campus of Campbellsville University. Tickets for the events will be available and can be purchased through Hometown Ticketing.


The Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team (8-2-2, 8-1-2 MSC) earned the No. 2 seed in the tournament after finishing second in the conference standings at the conclusion of the regular season.

For the Blue Raiders this season, senior midfielder Cyrus Harmon serves as the anchor for the team's offense, leading the team with 10 goals, 25 points, 42 total shots, and 19 shots on goal. Harmon currently averages 0.83 goals per match, which ranks fourth in the Mid-South Conference. Senior defender Neville Morgan has recorded a team-high six assists this season, averaging 0.50 per game, the fourth-best in the MSC. On defense, senior goalkeeper David Coffey leads the team with 25 saves on the season, has recorded two shutouts, and currently has a goal against average of 1.15, the fourth-best in the conference. As a team the Blue Raiders have outscored their opponents 35-13 this season, averaging 2.92 goals per game and 2.17 assists per game, the second-best in each category in the conference.

The No. 7-seeded Life men's soccer team (7-7, 5-6 MSC) faces the Blue Raiders defeating Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) 2-1 in overtime in the Opening Round on Monday.

For the Running Eagles this season, the team's offense is lead by a freshman and sophomore pair in Bart Kooistra and Luciano Diaz who lead the team with 7 goals scored each. Assist-wise, freshman defender Callum Jenkins leads the team with five assists on the season. On defense, junior goalkeeper Fabian Pekruhl leads the team with 51 saves on the season, has recorded two shutouts, and currently has a goal against average of 1.98, the ninth highest in the conference. As a team the Running Eagles have barely outscored their opponents 33-31 this season, averaging 2.36 goals per game and 1.50 assists per game, the fifth-best in each category in the conference.

The regular-season matchup between the two sides played on February 21 at Life was easily won by the Blue Raiders, 5-2. It was the first game this season the Blue Raiders scored 4+ goals.
