Rena Faye Bennett, 77, Russell County, KY (1943-2021)

Rena Faye Bennett, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, March 27, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was 77 years of age.

Born in Russell County, Kentucky, on July 19, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Hobert and Velna Meece Bradley. Rena was a homemaker, Vice President of Bennett’s Carpets, Inc., and a member of Union Baptist Church, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher. She loved animals and enjoyed listening to music. Rena was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.



Survivors include her husband, Ivan Bennett, of Russell Springs; two sons, Stephen (and Jeannine) Bennett and John (and Angie) Bennett; two daughters, Susan (and Barry) Stringer and Alisa (and Chris) King, all of Russell Springs; twelve grandchildren, Bradley Bennett of Colorado, Amanda (and Justin) Camblin of Versailles, Jessica (and Brandon) Hubbard of Jamestown, Holly (and Scott) George of Russell Springs, Will Bennett of Russell Springs, Evan Bennett of Russell Springs, Travis (and Kalie) Stringer of Greensburg, Shelby Stringer of Bowling Green, Trace Stringer of Russell Springs, Tanner Stringer of Russell Springs, Grant King of Russell Springs, and Hannah King of Russell Springs; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Rena was preceded in death by her sisters, Clydene Tucker and Edora Tucker.

Funeral services are 11:00 A.M Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Russell Springs, with her sons, Brother Stephen Bennett and Brother John Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, March 29, 2021, and from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Russell Springs.

Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings are required.

Travis Stringer, Will Bennett, Evan Bennett, Trace Stringer, Tanner Stringer, and Grant King will serve as pallbearers.

Justin Camblin, Brandon Hubbard, and Scott George will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, Kaden Tower, 6100 Dutchman’s Lane STE 401, Louisville, KY 40205-3284 or to Gideon’s International.

Bernard Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
