Gilbert Knight, 93, Jamestown, KY (1927-2021)

Gilbert Knight of Jamestown passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at his home.

A religious service will be held at 2pmCT on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N. Main St., Jamestown, KY, with Bro. John Blakey officiating. Burial will be at 1pmCT on Monday, March 22, 2021, at the Corwin/Miami Cemetery in Waynesville, OH.

Visitation will be Saturday at NoonCT at H. E. Pruitt Memory Chapel. We ask everyone attending to please wear a face covering and follow Covid rules.



Gilbert was born in Jamestown, KY on October 21, 1927, a son of the late Fannie Mae (Cundiff) and Winfield Scott Knight.

He served in the U.S. Army. He was a retired Boiler Master.

Gilbert is survived by
  • His wife Irene (Blakey) Knight, of Jamestown, KY
  • Two daughters, Pat Napier, and Kim Stadler, of Oregonia, OH;
  • Four step sons Roger Shearer, and Mitchell Shearer, of Jamestown, KY; Jr. Shearer, of Russell Springs, KY; Phillip Shearer, of Somerset. KY;
  • A brother, Marlin Knight, of S.C..
  • Three grandchildren
  • 12 step-grandchildren
  • A host of great grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his parents, first wife Joyce Knight, daughter Sherry Knight, sister Mildred Rexroat, and a brother Bradley Knight.
