LWC Men's Tennis continues streak with 6-1 win over Bethel

Lindsey Wilson men's tennis won its fifth match in a row today with a 6-1 win over Bethel (Tenn.) at Henry Baughman Tennis Complex.

The 9th-ranked Blue Raiders (6-1, 3-0 in the MSC) remain undefeated in conference play on the season.



The Blue Raiders swept the doubles point to begin the afternoon as Anatoliy Voloshyn and Adrian Bello Cruz defeated Marcos Neves and Jeffery Lee 6-3 in the third-ranked game. No. 14 Camilo Erazo and Aleksa Ciric followed up with a 6-4 victory of their own over Joao Okano and Renato Gravina to secure the one-point lead into the singles.

Ciric, ranked No. 38 in the NAIA, extended the Lindsey Wilson lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the second-seeded singles match. No. 46 ranked Tiago Almeida followed with a 6-0, 6-1victory over Marcos Neves in the third-seeded match. Bethel recorded their only point of the afternoon after Joao Okano defeated Erazo due to a retirement.

Nicolas Torrealba and Steven Espinoza won their sets 6-1, 6-0, and 6-1, 6-1 in their matches while Bello Cruz secured the victory after a retirement.

Lindsey Wilson returns to Henry Baughman Tennis Complex tomorrow when they face Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) at 2 p.m. CT.
