Rachel Reece Riggs, 81, Campbellsville, KY (1939-2021)

Rachel Reece Riggs of Campbellsville passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. She was 81 years old.

A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, officiated by Pastor Kent Ashley. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.



Rachel Reece Riggs, daughter of the late Sherman Reece and Lucy Compton Reece, was born August 18, 1939.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She united in marriage to Elroy Riggs on July 5. 1958. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2020.

Rachel was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in Marion and Taylor County School systems.

Her favorite pastime was cross- stitching. She looked forward to participating in the TCHS Craft Fair each year and had many return customers who purchased her impeccable cross-stitch.

Rachel is survived by one daughter and one son: Vickie McKinley and husband, Mark of Campbellsville and Alan Riggs and his wife, Alicia of Greensburg; five grandchildren; Maggie Adams and husband, Kevin of Louisville; Kelsey Riggs of St. Petersburg, Florida, Ellie Paine and husband, Davis of Maryville, Tennessee, Rachel Hughes and husband, Sean of Memphis, Tennessee and Peter Riggs of Greensburg; two great-grandchildren: Claire Coleman and Julian Coleman of ST. Petersburg, Florida; one sister, Helen Kessler Browning of Campbellsville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Earline Gabehart of Campbellsville.
