Dorothy Dyer, 79, Russell Springs, KY (1942-2021)

Dorothy Faye Gentry Dyer of Russell Springs passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at her home. She was 79 years old.

Services will be held privately for the family.

Dorothy was born on January 25, 1942, in Russell Springs, one of seven children born to the late Hollis and Alice Franklin Gentry. She worked as an inspector for the Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies of Indiana. Having a daughter and son-in-law both in the United States Army, Dorothy would travel with her daughters' family to different stations to care for their children. She loved her grandchildren immensely and invested as much time as she could with them. Dorothy was very creative and quite talented at making jewelry. She loved to read.

She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra (and Donald) Clark, of Whiteland, Indiana, and Alicia (and Frederick, Jr.) Whittington, of Port Republic, Maryland; two sisters, Ruby Barnett, of Franklin, Indiana, and Wanda Beasley, of Columbus, Indiana; her four grandchildren, Tatiyanna (and Jon) Walters, Frederick Whittington, III, Jessica Wilmer and Emma Clark; and two great-grandchildren, Felix and Josephine.

Along with her parents, preceding Dorothy in death are two brothers, Robert Gentry and Arnold Gentry; and two sisters, Edna Stafford and Lula Flatt.

Bernard Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.bernardfuneralhome.com.
