By Christopher Coombs

Georgetown, KY - After a 26 day break, the Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team willed their way to a 72-50 win over Georgetown (KY) at the Davis-Reed Alumni Gym on Thursday afternoon.

The win marks the 13th straight for the Blue Raiders against the Tigers in a streak that dates back to the 2014-15 season.

Reagan Turner once again led the Lindsey Wilson scoring effort with a game-high 25 points and four steals. Rose Mary Jackson was the only other Blue Raider in double-figures, scoring 13 points and seven rebounds.

Sydnie Hall and Maleigha Oldham each had nine points as Hailey Ison managed eight points and five boards. Bree Glover corralled a team-high eight rebounds adding five points along the way.

The first half was a close battle as the Tigers challenge the No. 19-ranked Blue Raiders with two ties and trailed by just one point seven different times. LWC never trailed in the contest.

Lindsey Wilson led by as many as six points in the first quarter but Georgetown managed a one-point deficit after one. Turner paced the Blue Raiders in the opening ten minutes with 10 points - scoring the game's first two baskets - as Ison chipped in with six of her own. Grace White carried the Tigers in the first quarter scoring the team's first eight points.

In an evenly paced opening to the second quarter, Lindsey Wilson led by just one at the 4:29 mark when Oldham knocked down a corner three. The shot spurred a 7-0 LWC run, giving the Blue Raiders their largest lead of the half at 33-25.

Lindsey Wilson took a six-point, 35-29 lead into halftime on 41 percent shooting from the field. The LWC defense held the Tigers to a 33 percent mark from the field in the half.

The Blue Raiders finally got some separation in the third quarter when they managed to build their largest lead to that point at 55-43. The Blue Raiders outscored the Tigers 20-14 in the quarter. Lindsey Wilson put the game away for good in the final quarter outscoring the Tiger 17-7. LWC took their largest lead of 24 points with just over a minute to play in the final stanza.

With the win, the Blue Raiders move to 9-1 overall and 4-1 in the Mid-South Conference as Georgetown falls to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the MSC.

Jalynn Landversicht led the Tigers with 13 points off the bench as White finished with 12.

The Blue Raiders are back in action on Saturday for the Battle of Highway 55 when they welcome Campbellsville (Ky.) to Biggers Sports Center at Noon CT.
