Bryson elevated to Lindsey Wilson's head athletic trainer

By Christopher Coombs

Lindsey Bryson has been named Lindsey Wilson's head athletic trainer, LWC athletics director Willis Pooler announced today.

Bryson elevates to the role following Emily Sigler's departure to join the armed forces.

Bryson is in her third year at Lindsey Wilson College. She currently serves as the athletic trainer for men's and women's basketball, cheerleading and dance, football, and softball.

"I am excited and blessed to be Lindsey Wilson College's head athletic trainer," Bryson said. "This is a great opportunity and I would like to thank President Bill Luckey, Dean Adams, and Willis Pooler for their confidence in me.

"I take this responsibility seriously and I am committed to working towards a healthy and successful finish to 2020-21 academic year," Bryson added. "Together with our coaches and the administration, I look forward to providing the best possible coverage for our student-athletes -- which will always be our top priority."

Bryson owns her Board of Certification for athletic training while boasting certifications in Head-Up to Clinicians Concussion Recognition, National Registry Emergency Medical Technicians, and American Heart Association: Basic Life Support.

Bryson earned her Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from California State University-Fresno in 2013 and her Masters of Science in athletic training from Bridgewater State (Mass.) University in 2017.

"I am excited to promote Lindsey to our head athletic trainer position," Pooler said. "Lindsey has earned the opportunity to lead our athletic training staff. I'm confident she will be able to move our athletic training program forward in many ways as she works with a talented staff of athletic trainers.

"She has demonstrated a very professional and caring approach to treating our student-athletes during her time here at Lindsey Wilson," Pooler added. "She has a great rapport with our coaches and is well respected in our department and across our campus. I'm looking forward to working with her in this new role."

Before coming to Lindsey Wilson, Bryson served as an athletic training intern at Vanguard (Calif.) University, working with the cross country, track & field, and women's soccer teams during the 2017-18 academic year. While at Vanguard, Bryson also served as the athletic trainer for the Lakewood High School football team.
