Two injured in Sunday afternoon accident

Two people were injured after a two car crash on Highway 55/New Columbia Road, in Taylor County Sunday afternoon, November 1, 2020, at 3:27pmET.

Taylor County Sheriff Allen Newton reports that a 2008 Chevy Cobalt driven by Phyllis Murphy, 74, Happy Hills Drive, Campbellsville, pulled from Milder Creek Road into the path of an auto traveling Highway 55 and driven by Amber Stotts, 25, of Country Place Drive, Columbia.



Murphy was airlifted to university of Louisville Hospital, Stotts was treated and released at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville.

The Sunday accident was investigated by Dickie Benningfield with the Taylor County sheriffs department and assisted by Campbellsville police and KSP.

Traffic stalled due to auto accident

Traffic was stalled and backed up in both directions for nearly half an hour Sunday afternoon due to a two car accident just south of Campbellsville.

One driver airlifted from accident scene

One driver was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital and one sent to Taylor Regional Hospital as a result of a two vehicle accident on Highway 55/New Columbia Road in Taylor County Sunday afternoon.

First responders head toward their vehicles after assisting teams at the scene of a two car crash on Highway 55/New Columbia Road in Taylor County Sunday afternoon. The Taylor County Sheriffs Office was assisted by Taylor County Fire-Rescue, Campbellsville Police Department and Kentucky State Police.
