ACSO: Russell Co. man arrested after traffic stop

On Friday, October 16, 2020, at 10:39pmCT, Deputy Joey Keith and K-9 Deputy Josh Durbin with K-9 Nitro initiated a traffic stop of a 2007 Volvo nine miles east of Columbia on KY 80.

In addition to the Columbia man previously reported as arrested (ACSO: Deputies seize over $15K of suspected crystal meth), the Adair County Sheriff's Office also arrested a Russell County man as a result of the traffic stop.



Walter Thomas, age 67, of Russell Springs, was charged with:
  • Possession of a controlled substance 1st degree
  • Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree methamphetamine
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
Thomas was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail.
