Lonnie Dale Carter, 68, Green Co., KY native (1952-2020) Lonnie Dale Carter of Clayton, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2020, at his home. He was 68 years old. The funeral services for Lonnie Dale Carter will be conducted at 10amCT on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Bennett Cemetery with full military honors. A walk through visitation is requested from 4pmCT until 7pmCT on Monday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, and after 7amCT on Tuesday until the time of the funeral service. Lonnie Dale Carter of Clayton, Georgia, son of the late Carnish M. "Pete" Carter and Pauline Patterson Carter, was born on Sunday, September 7, 1952 in Green County, Kentucky. He had made a profession of faith in Christ. He was retired from Fruit of the Loom, Inc. in Research and Development after 32 years of service. He was also a veteran having served in the United States Army, and was a member of the American Legion Rod Lowe Post #124. Survived by his wife of 50 years, Martha Lou Wiegel Carter of Georgia having united in marriage on July 25, 1970. Other survivors include a son and a daughter: Patrick Carter, and Lacy Carter both of Georgia; four grandchildren: Kailey Carter, Marcus Carter, Paxton Carter, and Jax Jackson Carter all of Georgia; two brothers: Rev. Jerry Carter of Owensboro, and Paul Carter of Bowling Green; and a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Carter was also preceded in death by a brother: Sammy Carter. The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Bennett Cemetery Fund, which can be made at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Patrick Carter, Marty Young, Jarod Carter, Chris Carter, Mike Wiegel, Fred Wiegel. Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
