Remembering Kathy Goode By Mark Hale I want to give a little history of a dear friend that lost her life in an auto accident on Thursday, Kathy "Kat" Goode of Casey County. Kathy and I worked together in the 80s and 90s at WGRB TV 34. We produced programs, news and commercials in the production department. Kat was a graduate of Spaulding University and had been a proof reader for the Courier Journal before coming to the station. She was a literary genius and could point out my misspellings and grammatical errors instantly. It always made me mad how quickly she could see them. We worked alongside each other for 5 years I guess until she sought the larger lights of the big city and branched out on a journey to New Orleans, LA. There she worked in a similar capacity for COX Cable systems. Before she left though she gave Michele and I a forever wedding gift by being one of two videographers at our wedding. It will always be a special memory for me. After a few years in New Orleans she returned home to be close to her aging mother. She started her own media business with video camera and the like doing custom services for anybody needing her expertise. She later landed the job of her true passion. The county library in Liberty. She was a favorite to all who enjoyed her passions of literature. Occasionally we would meet and talk and reminisce of times gone by. Kathy was a dear friend to Michele and I and so many of us from WGRB. Her untimely death is a tragedy for all who knew her. I am personally grateful for the time I had to call her my friend.
