Christian ministry helps children and families in need

Your gift to J.O.Y. Ministries Annual Fund Campaign, going on now through the year end, will raise money to operate for another year

J.O.Y. Ministries, a local Christian non-profit, has expanded its ministry far beyond the annual Mission Week it hosts every year for youth and young adults to serve our community and grow in discipleship. Click 'read more' to see the many ways your gifts of support are used.

J.O.Y. now also operates the Crisis Resource Center, serving those with immediate physical needs like food, permanent housing, and clothing. The Crisis Resource Center is open from 1-5pmCT Monday through Friday and is located at 411 Greensburg Street, Columbia.

An emergency shelter called Cally's House opened in September and is run by volunteers on an as-needed basis.

Camp H.O.P.E., an after-school and summer program for kids and youth, operates on Monday and Friday afternoons throughout the school year at Columbia UMC and for several weeks during the summer at Russell Heights Baptist Church.

To operate these ministries, J.O.Y. partners with many churches, businesses, and individuals throughout the year, but once a year they call on the entire community to help fund another year of ministry.

This holiday season J.O.Y. is inviting you to "Brighten Your Community with J.O.Y." by giving a monetary donation on-line at www.joy-ministries.org or by sending a check to P.O. Box 114, Columbia, KY 42728.

Let's spread a message of joy to the neediest in our community! -- Maggie Coleman, Treasurer
