ACSO: Stolen gun recovered By Sheriff Josh Brockman Adair County Sheriff's Office On Tuesday, October 15, 2019, the Adair County Sheriff's Office received a complaint of the theft of a firearm from Grider Road in Columbia. On Thursday, October 24, 2019, the investigation led to a suspect, and evidence was obtained to swear out an arrest warrant for Maggie Zimmerman, 26, of Columbia, for theft. On Saturday, October 26, 2019, Zimmerman was located and arrested by deputies on Carrie Bolin Drive in Columbia. The.40-caliber Taurus handgun that had been stolen was recovered and returned to owners. Zimmerman was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail on charges of Theft by Unlawful Taking, Firearm, a Class D felony. The Sheriff's Office is continuing the investigation. Note: An arrest is not a finding of guilt. An individual placed under arrest is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.
