Attorney General Ben Chandler Recalls Grandfather's Friendship With Knifley Wri

When Helen Sparks handed the first class letter with the Commonwealth of Kentucky Seal and "Office of Attorney General," it was enough to make even so innocent a one as he a bit nervous.

But he was pleasantly surprised to read:

Dear Mr. Sparks:

Enclosed is my personal check for $100 payable to the Janice Holt Giles Foundation

My Grandfather treasured the friendship of the Giles Family, and I am so pleased to make this small contribution to this very worthy cause. It was signed, "Ben Chandler." Mr. Chandler is Attorney General of Kentucky. He is the grandson of Happy Chandler.

Gifts may be sent to: The Giles Foundation, Box 932, Columbia, KY 42728.

Donations may be made in memory of a friend or relative or in appreciation of someone. Donor categories range from Friend, up to $50; to Believers, $5,0000 and up, and include categories for 40 Acres, Shady Grove, Around Our House, A Little Better than Plumb, and the Enduring Hills between.
