Only Four More Qualify To Carry Coveted Blue Cards

This article first appeared in issue 16, and was written by Ed Waggener.

JIM BARBEE-Boulder, Colorado, and late of this place, is the first Blue Ribbon Bear Board member assigned to the entire Rocky Mountain and Coors sectors.

RUBY T. BARBEE-Columbia, is an at large member of the BBRB, with a special distinction: Mrs. Barbee is licensed by the board to scout Black, Adair, and Polar Bears.

JOSEPH WESLEY FLOWERS-commissioned a Blue Ribbon Bear Board member in special ceremonies conducted by Johnny Vaughn. His sector is the vast whole of Columbia Rural Route 3.

DENA BURTON-Inducted into the Blue Ribbon Bear Board personally by BRBB Dean Gary Coomer, and assigned to the Webb's Crossroads, Torch Ridge sectors of Russell County; the Dunnville sector of Casey, and the Millerfield and Putman County sectors in Adair.

A note: The BRBB now has a clandestine operative smack dab in the center of Washington, D.C. Americans should sleep a little bit sounder knowing this.

1997-09-15 - Photo Staff. JIMMY DALE BLEDSOE saw pawprints which looked like those of a bear in a tobacco patch off Junior Loy Road a few years ago, but wouldn't tell anybody about until now, because, he says, he didn't want to get any backtalk from anyone on the subject. This item first appeared in Issue 16 of the print edition of Columbia! Magazine.
