From Crystal Staley/Scottie Ellis

Frankfort, KY - This week, Gov. Andy Beshear and First Lady Britainy Beshear announced a new toy drive for children impacted by the historic floods in Eastern Kentucky this summer.

"So just like last year in Western Kentucky, I am announcing a toy drive where people from around our commonwealth - and country - can donate gifts."

To learn more, visit the First Lady's website at governor.ky.gov/toydrive.

Gifts can be mailed to Jenny Wiley State Resort Park, where they will be sorted and organized with the help of Santa Claus and his elves. Additional drop-off sites and collection events will be announced soon. The deadline to donate is Wednesday, Dec. 14 - and donations should be sent to:

Basketball: Offense paces LWC Men over Virginia-Lynchburg

Campbellsville, KY - On Saturday afternoon, the Lindsey Wilson men's basketball team fell just shy of the century mark, but nonetheless, dominated Virginia-Lynchburg, 97-80, at the Lou Cunningham Classic to improve to 4-4 overall heading into December.

The three-pointers were plentiful inside the Powell Athletic Center, as both sides combined to shoot 25-for-43 from behind the arch. The Blue Raiders connected on a season-high 13 of those buckets, with Jackson Harlan coming off the bench to knock down five, including four straight on as many attempts in the first half.

Hutchison is progressing nicely." A month later, an article about the renovation of the Creel Building (on the exit corner of the square and Campbellsville St.) noted that

"When [the renovation] has been completed and the new buildings of Mrs. J.F. Patteson and Mr. C.R. Hutchison finished, the eastern corner of the square will present a very attractive and up-to-date appearance."

The News apparently made no direct mention of the first occupant, but an article in the August 26, 1931 paper about a location change named the likely candidate:
