Mayor's Report to Columbia City Council for May, 2021 By Pamela Hoots, Mayor, City of Columbia, KY The month of May, 2021 has been an extremely busy month for the City of Columbia. 1. We have submitted the resolution and other documents in reference to an application for USDA Community Funding. This grant is 75-25 for computers and cameras for our police patrol vehicles. 2. We are working with the Lake Cumberland Area Development District for the Community Development Block Grant for the former Majestic Yacht property. Synergy Food Group will be using this for a food service facility. 3. We have submitted requested information for our grant approval on the splash pad. This will be placed at the park on Fairgrounds Street. RE: Land and Water Grant. Steve Johnson, 65, Metcalfe County, KY (1955-2021) Stephen Travis Johnson, 65, of Center passed away suddenly at his home Sunday, June 6, 2021. Born August 23, 1955 he was the son of the late Travis and Euberta Trowbridge Johnson. Steve was a 1973 graduate of Metcalfe County High School. In 1993 he went to work with his father at Farm Bureau Insurance in Edmonton. After his father's retirement Steve continued to operate the company until his retirement.
