Kentucky Color - Red Maple leaves upon the ground

It is a valuable lumber tree and a great yard tree, and often is a brilliant red in the fall, as opposed to a Sugar Maple . . . which is mostly orange and yellow, Billy Joe Fudge says.

Red Maple leaves upon the ground are a sure sign that summer is nearing it's end.

Red Maple will grow and thrive on a wider variety of soils and geographic conditions than any other hardwood tree in North America. It grows from Nova Scotia to Florida and as far west as Texas and Minnesota.

JIM: Claim to be made for cash found in front of Harris law firm?

Story from before days Al Gore invented The Interwebs

By JIM

The notice in today's edition of CM concerning the found money brought to mind a joke even older than I am. Someone placed an ad in the local newspaper (this obviously in the days before Al Gore invented The Interwebs), saying a quantity of money had been found in thus-and-such a place, and that the owner could claim the do-re-me by describing it. A few days later, a letter arrived, stating,
"Dear Sir: You found my money. Here's the description. It's rectangles of good quality green paper, about two-and-a-half by six inches, with numbers in each corner and a picture of a dead president in the middle Please send my money to me at the address below."
