300 Corvettes roll out of of Columbia non-stop

There was quite a long delay
for other traffic as some 300 Corvettes rolled out of Walmart Shopping Center at around 1pmCT. Nobody seem to mind, as the parade passed as in a private review. Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss held other traffic for several light cycles to allow the visitors from the NC/VA Corvette Club to go through the signal non-stop, headed for the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. It is believed to have been the largest number of Corvettes ever in Adair County at one time.

Identity of body found in Washington Co. Determined

Deceased was 20-year-old Thomas Ray Pendygraft of Loretto, KY

SPRINGFIELD, KY - The State Medical Examiner's office has identified the body as that of 20-year-old Thomas Ray Pendygraft of Loretto, KY. The positive identification was made through DNA testing. The burned vehicle Pendygraft was found in was a 2009 Dodge that belonged to his father, Larry Pendygraft, also of Loretto.

Investigators are asking that if anyone has any information regarding this investigation to please contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555 or TEXT-A-TIP by entering 67283 in the address field and then type KSPTIP in the message field, space and then the message. Detective Nick Davis is investigating.

KSP Post 4 arrests North Carolina man for rape

KSP Post 4, Elizabethtown, KY

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY - KSP Post 4 Detectives arrested Eugene Hunt (50) of Wendell, NC, on August 26, 2014. He was charged with 2 counts of Rape 2nd Degree, one count of Sodomy 2nd Degree, and two counts of Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 1st Degree. The charges stem from allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a 13 year old female, who is a non-relative, that resided in the same Hardin County home with him in 2014. Mr. Hunt has been lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. Additional charges could be pending. The investigation is being conducted by Detective Jon Vaughn.

Postponed one week due to Labor Day holiday

The DAV service officer will not be at VFW Columbia Post 6097, 411 Fairground ST Columbia, KY, on Monday, September 1, 2014 due to it being Labor Day, but will be there on Monday, September 8, 2014, 2014. Doors open at 8amCT and is for any Veteran needing assistance with any VA claim or problem.

You do not need to be a member of any Veteran Group to receive this service and is provided on a "first come-first served" basis. Please bring all letters and/or paperwork from the Veterans Administration. If you are just applying, you need to bring discharge papers - preferably DD-214. 300 Corvettes at Columbia Supermart today, Wed. Aug. 27, 2014

Huge car show will take place from 10am-1pmCT, with Walmart donating ALL of proceeds from outside concessions set up especially for event going to Lexington, KY, children's hospital.

Columbia Super Walmart, 2988 Burkesville Road, Columbia, KY, is preparing for some 300 Corvettes some of which are already trickling onto half of the space on the grounds for a big car show, from now until around 1pmCT, today, according to Columbia Walmart manager Drew Mitchell. The cars are driven by the Carolina/Virginia Corvette Club.

Carolina/Virginia Corvette Members left Sevierville, TN, this morning. The stopover comes before the group leaves Columbia for the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. Mitchell said that the local Walmart store will set up concession stands with all the food and beverages supplied by the store, and the gross proceeds will all be given to the Walmart Children's Miracle Foundation, designated for the Children's Hospital in Lexington, KY. The Corvette Show area is roped off, Mitchell said. The Columbia Super Walmart is located in the Holladay Place shopping center. - CM

Internet Connectivity Issues in Columbia Wed., Aug. 27, 2014

At 9:06amCT, service was restored at ColumbiaMagazine.com. Issue may have been part of nationwide outage.- CM

Duo-County is reporting some internet connectivity issues are affecting customers in Columbia today. As of 8:03amCT, they did not know when to expect things to be fixed, but local representatives said that technicians are working to identify the problem.
