Ricky Winfield had been named the Mid-South Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

The senior from Lakewood, California picked up the season-opening win for the Blue Raiders in a 4-0 victory over LSU-Alexandria on Friday.

He hurled seven scoreless innings while allowing just four hits in the shutout victory. Winfield struck out six in his seven innings of work and did not surrender a free pass.

Lindsey Wilson went 2-1 on opening weekend with wins over LSU-Alexandria and No. 16 Tabor (Kan.).

Winfield earns his first weekly honor of his career.

Kevin Hallmon is the Mid-South Conference Track Athlete of the Week and Goabaone Mosheleketi is the MSC Field Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Hallmon recorded a pair of runner-up finishes at the MTSU Invitational on Saturday. His time of 21.67 seconds in the 200-meter dash was good enough for a national A cut. He finished the 55-meter dash in 6.52 seconds to finish second out of 19 participants.

The junior from Hinesville, Georgia earns his first indoor track weekly honor of his career.

Mosheleketi won both of his field events on Saturday at the Middle Tennessee State University Invitational.

The senior from Lobatse, Botswana topped the field in the long jump with a distance of 7.53 meters. He followed that up with a 15.43-meter finish in the triple jump, the best out of seven participants.

Both of his distances were above the national A standard cut line.

Mosheleketi earns his third indoor field weekly this season and of his career.

Safia Bright is the Mid-South Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week and Paige Pettell is the MSC Field Athlete of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Bright recorded a pair of top-five finishes including a runner-up finish in the 55-meter dash on Saturday at the MTSU Invitational.

The sophomore from Kumasi, Ghana crossed the line in 7.14 seconds in the 55-meter dash to finish second out of 24 participants. She recorded a national A standard in the 200-meter dash, finishing the race in 24.99 seconds.

Bright earns her second indoor track weekly honor this season and of her career.

Pettell recorded a pair of runner-up finishes at the Anderson University Invitational on Saturday.

Her second-place finish in the shot put hit a distance of 13.18 meters, good enough for a national B standard. The sophomore from Vine Grove, Kentucky then recorded a distance of 14.65 meters in the weight throw to finish second out of 24 participants.

Pettell earns her third indoor field weekly honor this season and third of her career.
