LWC men's swimming finishes third at MSC Championship

KINGSPORT, Tenn. The Lindsey Wilson men's swimming team finished third at the Mid-South Conference Swimming Championship at the Kingsport Aquatic Center.

The Blue Raiders finished the three-day event with 303 points. Lindenwood-Belleville (IL) captured the team title with 506 points while Cumberlands (KY) ended in second with 456 points.

Clemens Paetzold earned an A cut in the 200-yard backstroke. Paetzold touched the wall in one minute and 54.85 seconds to earn 12 team points. Jonas Mueller finished fifth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:12.21 to earn an A cut and 10 team points. Zachary Patzer earned a national A standard in the 100 free with a time of 47.73 earning nine points.

A trio of swimmers earned national A standards in the 1,650 freestyle. Jose Prado de Lima finished fourth with a time of 16:43.73, Manny Griego was right behind in fifth with a time of 16:50.66 and Michael Peck was sixth finishing in 17:08.47. The trio collected 30 team points in the event.

Paul Pavala earned an A cut in the 200 backstroke. Pavala touched the wall in 1:54.83 to earn seven points. He also earned an A standard in the 200 butterfly. The 400 freestyle relay team of Prado de Lima, Peck, Paetzold and Patzer earned an A standard with a time of 3:31.88 while earning 22 points.
