Family gathers around statue of State Rep. Jody Richards

From Annette and Jim Richards

A few Richards family members recently gathered around the bronze statue of Adair County native, Kentucky State Rep. Jody Richards. WKU's Mass Media and Technology Hall was renamed in his honor and dedicated in a spring celebration. It was part of our tour of campus as Jody's nephew and our first grandchild, Curtis, begins his first year as a WKU student.

Jody Richards' 14-year tenure as Speaker of the Kentucky House of Representatives was the longest in state history. He is credited with having been instrumental in securing state funding to construct the building that now bears his name as well as at least seven other buildings during his 42 years in office.

Jim and I are very proud of all four grandchildren, including the two with us at this visit with Jody.
