LWC Volleyball heads to St. Louis for a weekend doubleheader By Clayton Barefield The No. 4-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team heads to St. Louis to face off against Ottawa (Kan.) on Friday at 4pmCT, and then against Missouri Baptist at 1pmCT on Saturday. The Blue Raiders (17-2, 7-0 in the Mid-South Conference) swept Cumberland (Tenn.) on Tuesday night at Biggers Sports Center. With the win, Lindsey Wilson puts their winning streak to nine games including seven-straight MSC wins on the season. In the sweep over the Phoenix, the Blue Raiders recorded their fourth match with a hitting percentage of .400 or better. Sarah Cruz led the Blue Raiders with 13 kills on the night marking her 14th game with double-digit kills. Autumn Proctor tallied 30 assists and 10 digs to lead the Blue Raiders in the win. Ottawa (11-4, 2-0 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference) visits St. Louis after sweeping York (Neb.) on the road. The Braves will face off against Missouri Baptist at 1 p.m. CT before playing the Blue Raiders at 4 p.m. CT. The Braves are led by Kenna Hall who has tallied 175 kills so far this season. Morgan Berry leads the team in assists with 600 on the season. Missouri Baptist (17-2, 6-0 in the American Midwest Conference) defeated Lindenwood-Bellville 3-1 on Wednesday night on the road. The Spartans offense is led by Mallory Moran who has tallied 219 kills and averages 3.65 kills per set this season. The Spartans offense also has three other student-athletes that have recorded 100 or more kills this season. The defense is led Rachel Luebbers who has recorded 243 digs on the season.
