LWC Men's Soccer blanks Menlo 2-0 in Top-25 matchup By Anthony Latessa The No. 10-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team shutout No. 25 Menlo (Calif.) 2-0 in a Top-25 matchup at Walter S. Reuling Stadium. The Blue Raiders (5-1-1) got goals from Yuta Yamamoto and Karim Jouini. Andrew Revanales recorded an assist. Lindsey Wilson outshot the Oaks (5-2) 17-15 and held a 4-2 edge in shots on goal. Rainer De Jesus led the way with four shots while David Ibrahimkadic and Jouini had three apiece. Yamamoto put the Blue Raiders on the board in the 18th minute. After a Menlo foul in the box, Yamamoto converted on the penalty kick beat the Oak goalkeeper to the lower left corner to give Lindsey Wilson a 1-0 lead. The Blue Raiders held an 8-5 advantage in shots and prevented Menlo from recording a shot on goal while registering two. Stephane Dasse led Lindsey Wilson with two shots in the half. It was a physical first half that saw nine total fouls between the two teams and five yellow cards. Jouini increased the Lindsey Wilson lead to 2-0 in the 65th minute. Jouini played it to Revanales who played a through ball past the defense back to Jouini. He was then able to bury it into the back of the net past the Menlo goalkeeper. The physicality picked right back up in the second half with 13 total fouls between the two teams with 22 total in the match. Luis Nunez led the way for Menlo with four shots while Eric Hegmann had three. Lindsey Wilson is back in action on Saturday when they host Goshen (Ind.) at 2pmCT at Walter S.
