Ellen Shirley Houk, 89, Green County, KY (1929-2018) August 22, 1929 - September 12, 2018 (Age 89) She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the South Greensburg Baptist Church. She owned the former Central Kentucky Monument Company for 21 years from 1964 until 1985. She was a native of Greensburg, KY, and a resident of the city at the time of her death. She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded family. She was the the daughter of the late Robert E. Matney & Zada Young Matney, and the widow of Rual Edward Houk, her husband of over 53 years. She leaves 22 direct and two step- living descendants. Her final resting place will be in Little Barren Cemetery in Green County, KY. Bro. Meryl Young and Bro. Joseph Wilcoxson will officiate. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Sunday until time of the funeral service. Pallbearers: Eddie Walker, Doug Neagle, Charlie Houk, Zeth Houk, Nate Houk, and Taylor Bishop.
