Harry Hawthorne Barnes, Jr., 93, Green Co., KY (d. 9 Sep 2018)

He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during World War II. He graduated from Mississippi State University and John Hopkins University. He was the widower of Annie Eugenia Tatum Barnes. He leaves three direct and two step- living descendants and a special friend, Robin Jewell, to mourn his passing.

Harry Hawthorne Barnes, Jr. age 93 of Greensburg, KY, and Meridian, MS, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Anderson Regional Hospital in Meridian, MS.

The family chose cremation. There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of arrangements.



He was preceded in death by his wife: Annie Eugenia Tatum Barnes and son Dennis Barnes.

He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving during World War II. He graduated from Mississippi State University and John Hopkins University.

He is survived by:
  • One son and daughter-in-law - Bruce and Millie Pickett Barnes of Greensburg, KY

  • A special friend - Robin Jewell

  • One granddaughter - Beth Barnes

  • Two step grandchildren - Sabrina and Summer Sebastian

  • One great grandson: Julian Money
