Complaint of car blocking Gran Sexton road leads to arrest - Metcalfe/Adair Trooper Ricky Cross, responding to complaint, allegedly finds operator of Red Cobalt passed out in driver's seat, with keys still in ignition, and marijuana grinder in his lap, which subject tried to hide. Operator arrested and charged with multiple offenses NOTE: An arrest is not a finding of guilt. Nick Hale, Public Information Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY On September 1st, 2018 at approximately 3:50pmCT, Trooper Ricky Cross responded to the intersection of Granville Sexton Road and East Fork Road in Metcalfe County in reference to a subject in a Red Chevrolet Cobalt blocking the roadway. Upon arrival, Trooper Cross observed the Red Cobalt parked halfway in the road. 28 year old Justin Harper of Edmonton was passed out in the driver's seat, with the keys still in the ignition. Trooper Cross observed a marijuana grinder in the subject's lap. The subject then woke up and tried to hide the grinder. Consent to search the vehicle was given resulting in discovery of a small amount of marijuana, a white powdered substance believed to be cocaine, and a straw. Following a field sobriety test, administered by Trooper Cross, Harper was arrested and charged with the following:
