No. 1 Lindsey Wilson Volleyball hosts Asbury for home opener - Wed 22 Aug 2018 Blue Raiders have never been beaten in Biggers Sports Center by Asbury Click on headline for complete story By Charles Balcom, Sports Information Director, LWC COLUMBIA, KY – (Wed 22 Aug 2018) - The No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson volleyball team returns home to host Asbury (KY) in the first home match of the 2018 season on Wednesday, August 22, 2018, at 7pmCT, at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Drive, Columbia, KY. The Blue Raiders (1-0) are returning to Bigger Sports Center after a three-game sweep against Fisk in the season opener last night. As a team, Lindsey Wilson hit for .589 as Paulina Sobolewska and Klara Mikelova posted 10 kills each without an error. Grace Blomstedt added an errorless nine-kill performance in 14 swings along with a pair of blocks. With the victory, Lindsey Wilson extended its program-record win streak to 36-consecutive matches following the perfect 35-0 campaign in 2017. The Blue Raiders are currently riding a 63-match home streak inside Biggers Sports Center, a run that started October 11, 2013. As for Asbury, this will be their 2018 season opener. Coming off a 20-8 record in 2017, the Eagles are returning 11 student-athletes from last season’s roster. This meeting between Lindsey Wilson and Asbury is the 22nd time the two teams have faced each other. Lindsey Wilson holds a 19-2 record over the Eagles with 9-0 record at Biggers Sports Center.
