James Ralph Petty, 74, services in Adair and Jefferson Counties

He retired from Brown and Williamson and Philip Morris. He was a member of Old Shively Methodist Church and attended Overdale Methodist Church for the past 10 years. He was Master Mason of Hudsonville Lodge #262 from 1979-1980. He loved his church family and was a big Nascar fan.

James Ralph Petty, age 74, of Shepherdsville received his wings on Friday, August 17, 2018 after several months of illness at Norton's Audubon Hospital.

Louisville funeral services will be conducted at 6pmCT/7pmET Monday, August 20, 2018 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). Friends may pay their respects on Monday from 2-7pmCT/3-8pmET at the funeral home.

Columbia funeral services will take place on Tuesday, August 21, 2018at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street Columbia, KY, with interment in Haven Hill Cemetery in Columbia. Friends may pay their respects from 10amCT until time of service at the funeral home.

He was the son of the late Ralph & Annie Mae (Coomer) Petty. He retired from Brown and Williamson and Philip Morris.

He leaves to cherish his memory

  • Sister - Jean Corum (Mike) of Louisville, KY

  • Brother - Ted Petty (Bobbie) of The Village, FL

  • Special nephews, Tommy Pickett and Michael (Buck) Petty of Louisville, KY

  • Special nieces, Rhonda Powell and Rita Carter of Louisville, KY and Kim Brennan of Franktown, CO

  • Granddaughters, Nequila Wilson Norris, Brooklyn Bardin, Natalie Bardin and Chloe Bardin Bush

  • Great-grandsons, Jace Mackenzie, Gunner Norris and Waylon Biggerstaff
