When a Western United States forest fire is said to cover 300,000 acres its easier to comprehend in terms of "Adair Counties" as a measure of area. Adair County has 412 Square Miles. There are 640 acres to the square mile, which equals 263,680 acres. therefore a 300,000 acre Western Forest Fire is 1.137 Adair Counties in area..
