CU prepares to welcome students for fall semester

"Welcome Week" activities, open for participation by all students, faculty and staff, begin Aug. 18, 2018 and happen each day at different times through Aug. 26, 2018. Aug. 24 is the last day to add or register for the first bi-term or semester term.

As the summer draws to a close, Campbellsville University is beginning her 2018-2019 academic year featuring various activities to welcome back new and returning students.



Evening classes for the academic year begin Monday, Aug. 20, 2018 at 4:15pmCT/5:15pmET for classes that begin at that time and later. All regularly scheduled classes begin Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 7amCT/8amET The semester ends Dec. 7, with finals week and December commencement taking place on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018.

Advising and registration takes place Aug. 20, 2018.

The first semester bi-term also begins Aug. 20 and ends Oct. 13, 2018. The second bi-term begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 8, 2018.

Aug. 24 is the last day to add or register for the first bi-term or semester term.

"Welcome Week" activities, activities open for participation by all students, faculty and staff, begin Aug. 18 and happen each day at different times through Aug 26.

"The Office of Enrollment is excited to welcome the class of 2022 to CU," according to Paula Caldwell, director of on-campus enrollment. "There may still be others considering college this fall, and it's not too late!"

The "Welcome Week" schedule is as follows:

Saturday, Aug. 18, Campbellsville University students, faculty, staff and coaches are invited to participate in The Main Event from 6-9pmCT/7-10pmET on Main Street in downtown Campbellsville.

Sunday, Aug. 19, KB, a Christian hip-hop artist, will be performing a concert in Ransdell Chapel. Doors open at 5pmCT/6pmET.

Monday, Aug. 20, the Welcome Week Festival takes place 4-6pmCT/5-7pmCT in the Student Activity Center.

The Harlequins, the university's drama club, will present "New Year. Who Dis?" at 7pmCT/8pmET in the Russ Mobley Theater in the Alumni Building on campus.

On Tuesday, Aug. 21, the Baptist Campus Ministry will have a picnic from 4-6pmCT/5-7pmET on the practice field.

On Wednesday, Aug. 22, the Library Olympics will take place at 12noonCT/1pmET in the Montgomery Library. Dorm Wars will take place at 6pmCT/7pmET on the practice field.

Thursday, Aug. 23, Tiger Thursday will take place at 6pmCT/7pmET in front of the Ransdell Chapel. The Vine Campus Worship begins at 8:30 p.m. following Tiger Thursday in Ransdell Chapel.

On Friday, Aug. 24, Friday Night Water Fight takes place at 7pmCT/8pmET on Stapp Lawn.

On Saturday, Aug. 25, A Tiger Tailgate starts at 10amCT/11:30amET behind the Student Activity Center.

Following, the football game begins at 12:30pmCT/1:30pmET at Finley Stadium when the Fighting Tigers take on Faulkner University.

A game-day after party will take place on the Student Activity Center patio, following the game.

On Sunday, Aug. 26, Lake Day begins at 1pmCT/2pmET at Green River Lake State Park. Van rides will be available at 1:30 and 3:30 in front of Stapp Hall.
