Timeline for fugitive Shawn Christy: McAdoo, PA to Adair Co., KY - 2012-2018

The fugitive's trail to Adair County: Shawn Christy now the subject of an intensive manhunt near the Adair/Green County line. The timeline started in 2011 in McAdoo, PA when Christy and his father made national news as a result of threats against former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. It has led to Adair County, KY and has brought attention Adair County could well do without. This Friday, August 10, 2018, it is about the only thing being talked about in Columbia, Edmonton, Greensburg, and Campbellsville, where multiple sightings are being reported hourly, and some have even come to collect the reward money.

US Marshals and local and state police continue searching for fugitive Shawn R. Christy, who was originally wanted for threatening the President of the United States as well as local Pennsylvania officials. Read on for the timeline of the month-long, multi-state manhunt that has most recently landed in rural Adair County, where Christy is believed to have broken into multiple homes.



June 2012: Fugitive Shawn Christy first made the news in December, 2011, for admitting to hundreds of threatening calls to former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. In early June of 2012, Christy and his father, Craig Christy, both of McAdoo, PA, were sentenced to five years probation. (See: WNEP: Two Sentenced For Harrassment of Palin Lawyer)

June 20, 2018: US Marshalls began a search for Shawn Christy near his hometown of McAdoo, PA, because of threats he made on social media against local officials and President Trump. (See: WNEP: Schuylkill County Man Wanted for Threatening President Trump, Government Officials)

June 21, 2018: the manhunt for Christy in Schuylkill County, PA, had expanded to include the FBI, U.S. Marshals, the National Swat team, county detectives, and state and local police. (Massive manhunt underway in PA for Shawn Christy)

July 13, 2018: The search for Christy continued in Pennsylvania through the July 4th holidays, and then on July 13, the focus moved to Constable, NY, just 100 yards from the Canada border, where officials found a truck stolen from Christy's former employer.. July 17, 2018: officials traced another stolen vehicle from New York state back to Pennsylvania, where they think he broke into a school in Scranton to steal food. (WNEP: Search For Man Accused of Making Threats Against President Trump Turns to Lackawanna County)

July 25, 2018: The US Marshals began searching for Christy in Butler Township, PA, after a breakin at a relative's house where three guns were stolen. (Extremely armed and dangerous fugitive believed to be in Luzerne County area)

July 29/30, 2018: US Marshalls continued to search for Christy in Pennsylvania after a surveillance video showed a man matching Christy's description stealing a minivan. (Marshals seek help locating van possibly stolen by fugitive Christy)

July 30, 2018: The search for Christy moved 250 miles west, when Christy was spotted at a Sheetz on Interstate 79 in Allegheny County, PA. (Man wanted in Trump threat spotted in Western Pa.)

Aug 6, 2018: According to multiple reports, US Marshalls had already been in Adair County for several days searching for Christy, because of threats made against Adair County native Dakota Meyer. (WLEX: US Marshals Search For Fugitive)

Aug 9, 2018: Kentucky State Police confirm that surveillance videos appear to show Christy breaking into the home of Dakota Meyer's brother, Timothy Gilliam, on Brockman Keltner Rd., in Adair County. (CM: Dakota Meyer home broken into; suspect is Shawn Christy)


Anyone with information about Christy's whereabouts is asked to call the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-926-8332 or the FBI at 1-215-418-4000.

Reward:
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of Shawn Christy. Additional reward money may be available from the United States Secret Service and the United States Marshals Service.

Remarks:
Christy may be in possession of several stolen handguns.

Caution:
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the United States Secret Service, and the United States Marshals Service are seeking the public's assistance in locating Shawn Christy, of McAdoo, Pennsylvania. Christy is wanted for allegedly threatening to harm and/or kill a police chief, other law enforcement officers, a district attorney, and President Donald J. Trump. Christy allegedly posted the threats on Facebook between June 3 and 12, 2018, saying that he was going to shoot President Trump in the head, and was going to use "lethal force" on any law enforcement officer attempting to detain him. A federal arrest warrant was issued for Christy by the United States District Court, Middle District of Pennsylvania, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, on June 19, 2018, after he was charged with Interstate Communication of Threats and Threats Against the President of the United States.
