She was a member of Amazing Grace Church and a retired teacher's assistant at John Adair Middle School for 27 years. She enjoyed her family & friends. She was a member of an outstanding Adair County, KY family. She was the daughter of the late Claudie Ray Grant & of Beula Earls Grant who survives, as does her husband, Bro. Ronnie Lee Janes. She leaves three direct living descendants.

Glenda Sue Janes, 69 years of Columbia, KY, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 7:45amCT, at her home.

Funeral service will be at 11amCT, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Janes the officiating clergy. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4:30pmCT, Friday, August 10, 2018, at the funeral home.

She was born Monday, November 8, 1948 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Claudie Ray Grant & Beula Earls Grant of Columbia, KY, who survives. She died Tuesday, August 7, 2018, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 69 years, nine months, and 30 days.

Besides her mother she is survived by:
  • Her husband: Bro. Ronnie Lee Janes of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Chris Janes & his wife Wendy of Columbia, KY

  • One daughter: Tammy Janes Hatcher & husband Mark of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: Lonnie Grant of Columbia, KY

  • Grandchild: Jacob Austin Smith

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends
