Jeanetta was a co-founder and owner of Petty's Supply and was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church in Adair County. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was quick to express her faith by inviting those she met, "Are you coming to church Sunday?" She was the matriarch of an prominent, highly regarded Adair County, KY, family. She was the daughter of the late Millard & Lyda Piercy Turner, and the widow of Elmo Nell Petty

Jeanetta Marie Turner Petty, 81, of the Flatwoods community in Adair County, KY passed from this life Sunday afternoon, August 5, 2018 at her home.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 2pmCT, at Antioch United Methodist Church, 3422 Wheeler Hill Road, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Troy Elmore the officiating clergy. Interment in the Antioch Cemetery, beside the church. The family requests visiting after 3pmCT, on Tuesday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, and on Wednesday from 6am-11:30amCT at the funeral home and after 12pmCT at the Antioch United Methodist Church.



She was a co-founder and owner of Petty's Supply and was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church in Adair Co. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was quick to express her faith by inviting those she met, "Are you coming to church Sunday?"

She was born in Adair County, KY on June 10, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Millard & Lyda Piercy Turner. She died Sunday, August 5, 2018, in the Flatwoods community of Adair County, KY, at the age of 81 years, two months, and 26 days.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmo Nell Petty on October 6, 2013.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Cathy Gay Petty in 1974; and by an infant son in 1956; two brothers, Joe Turner and Jerry Turner; one sister, Betty Turner Redmon; a brother-in-law, Malcolm Petty; andtwo sisters-in-law, Helen Nally and Linda Petty Turner

Survivors include:
  • One daughter - Judy Reliford and husband David of Columbia, KY

  • One son - Nathan Jennings and wife, Linda of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandsons - Brett (Heather) Reliford, Andrew (Bethany) Reliford, Eric (Alexis) Jennings, and Timothy (Julie) Jennings

  • Four great-grandchildren - Langston and Claire Reliford; and Case and Jay Luke Jennings

  • Three step- great-grandchildren - Brady, Jaidon, Kylie Spires all of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters - Nancy (Winfrey) Burton of Columbia, KY; Dency Upton of Bowling Green, KY

  • One brother - Larry (Cathy) Turner of Columbia, KY

  • A sister-in-law - Joyce Foster Turner

  • One brother-in-law - Bobby Redmon both of Columbia, KY

  • And by a host of nieces, nephews and friends
