Marker on Historic AC Courthouse remembers R. Fred Capps

2018-08-03 - Historic Adair County Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY - Photo by Ed Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Remembering a fallen hero. R. Fred Capps, Jr., was senselessly murdered in his hometown, Burkesville, in 2000, at the time he was serving a Commonwealth's Attorney for Adair and Cumberland Counties. This marker to his memory is on the NW lawn of the Historic Adair County Courthouse. That same year a tradition, now in its 19th year, the R. Fred Capps Memorial Golf Tournament, this year scheduled for September 8, 2018, at the Pines at Lindsey Wilson, 275 Country Club Road, Columbia, KY. Registration for the limited entry tournament starts at 8amCT on September 8. - EW
