He was heading home, on a trip with his uncle Robert Gilbert, after having visited family in Ohio when the accident happened and both men died from injuries sustained. He had attended the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church.

Preston Allen Gilbert, 34 of Glens Fork, KY passed away suddenly Sunday, July 29, 2018 from injuries he received in a pickup truck accident on Interstate 75 near Union, KY.

A joint funeral service for Allen Gilbert and his uncle Robert Lee Gilbert will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY with clergy officiating Bro. Ralph Foster, pastor of Bloomington Chapel Church. Interment will be in the Fudge Cemetery, 847 Independence Ridge Road, Breeding, KY . The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pmCT on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the funeral home.

Allen was born Wednesday, October 5, 1983 in Mariemont, Hamilton County, Ohio. He was the son of Tommy Henson & Betty Ann Gilbert. He died Sunday, July 29, 2018, in Union, KY, at the age of 34 years, nine months, and 24 days.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Betty Ann Gilbert in 2013 and his grandfather Preston Gilbert

Allen had attended the Bloomington Chapel Brethren in Christ Church

Survivors include
  • His father - Tommy Henson of Goshen, Ohio

  • One sister - Brittany Gilbert of Russell Springs, KY

  • One half sister - Amanda Henson of Goshen, Ohio

  • His maternal grandmother - Betty Lou Corbin Gilbert of Glens Fork, KY

  • Paternal grandmother - Darlene Henson of Goshen, Ohio

  • Three nieces - Destiny Roy, Breann Roy, Adriana Gomez

  • Several aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends
