Allegedly stolen lap top recovered in Campbellsville traffic stop

KSP charges that suspect, once arrested in the Taylor County Detention Center, tried to get rid of small bag of suspected methamphetamine by throwing it on the floor. In addition to that allegation, suspects faces multiple other charges. NOTE: An arrest is not a finding of guilt. TAYLOR COUNTY, KY (Mon 30 Jul 2018) On Sunday, July 29, 2018 at approximately 11pmET, Trooper Dexter Colvin conducted a routine traffic stop in the limits of Campbellsville on Logan Street.



The operator of the vehicle, Stephen Pilkington, age 28 of Campbellsville, KY, had an outstanding warrant against him. Consent to search the vehicle was given resulting in Trooper Colvin locating a stolen laptop in the front floor board.

Pilkington was placed under arrest. Once inside the Taylor County Detention Center Pilkington attempted to get rid of a small bag of suspected methamphetamine by throwing it on the floor during booking.

Pilkington was charged with the outstanding bench warrant as well as: No tail lamps, failure to wear seat belts, operating on suspended or revoked license, failure to produce insurance card, DUI 2nd offense, receiving stolen property under $10,000, promoting contraband and tampering with physical evidence.

KSP Trooper Colvin was assisted by Campbellsville Police Department
