Joedene Simpson, 85, Green County, KY (1932-2018)

Monday, December 19, 1932 ~ July 26, 2018 (Age 85)
He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a farmer, loved fishing, growing pumpkins, hunting arrowheads, and digging ginseng. He was a member of a highly respected family, the son of the late Ural "Tobe" Simpson & Golda Dee McKinney Simpson. His wife Ruth Arnett Simpson, survives. He leaves six descendants, spanning four generations, including a daughter, Elva Jo Simpson Coffey, and grandchildren in Adair County, KY, and grandchildren in Green County, KY.

Mr. Joedene "Joe" Simpson, 85, of Green County, KY, departed this life on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at the University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, KY.



Pallbearers: Tyler Atwood, Cody Coffey, David Allen McKinney, Elvis Price, Wesley Atwood, and Richard "Bubba" Atwood.

Mr. Joedene "Joe" Simpson of Green County, KY, son of the late Ural "Tobe" Simpson & Golda Dee McKinney Simpson, was born on Monday, December 19, 1932 in Green County, KY, and departed this life on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at the University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. He was 85 years, seven months, and seven days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a farmer, loved fishing, growing pumpkins, hunting arrowheads, and digging ginseng.

Survived by his wife: Ruth Arnett Simpson of Green County, and the following:

  • A daughter and son-in-law: Elva Jo & Ronnie Coffey of Adair County, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Bridgette Morgan of Greensburg, KY; and Cody Coffey of Adair County, KY

  • Two great-grandchildren: Tyler Atwood of Greensburg, KY, and Casen Wyatt Coffey of Adair County, KY

  • A great-great-grandson: Preston Atwood of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Simpson was also preceded in death by a brother and sister: Randy Simpson and Lanney Bolin.
