According to J.O.Y. Ministries treasurer Maggie Coleman, donations to the Paz-Holley Project have now increased to $73,000, on its way to the goal of $108,000 needed to completely pay for the house.

The original goal came about from prayers and discussions of how to help five young Adair County children who became homeless when their mother was murdered and their father was taken to jail in October, 2017. The five little ones were taken in by their mother's brother and his wife who already had five children of their own - making them sudden parents of ten children.

Now the quesiton became how to help this new family of a dozen. A volunteer committee worked together and decided a home was needed as quickly as possible to allow the new double-sized family to live together.

Hundreds of donors moved the P-H Project to a third of the way, then half way to the goal, then took a giant step when Mr. "P" Express founder Allan Mercer Parnell gave a donation of $5,000.

Looking at the job to be done from a business perspective, Community Medical Services owner Stacey Wilson announced a challenge to other businesses, "What if 40 businesses - or individuals within those businesses - give a thousand dollars from that company? We can buy this house and have those ten children in it before Thanksgiving!" She made her own gift, announced with her challenge, kicked off at 8amCT July 20, 2018.

The Paz-Holley (P-H) Project is now at $73,000, needing just $35,000 to achieve its goal of $108,000.

The Paz-Holley (P-H) Project reached $73,000 July 26, 2018, leaving just $35,000 to achieve its goal of $108,000 and help the family of twelve into a home of their own that fits their number. Looking at the job to be done from a business perspective when $40,000 was needed, Community Medical Services owner Stacey Wilson announced a challenge to other businesses, "What if 40 businesses - or individuals within those businesses - give a thousand dollars from that company? We can buy this house and have those ten children in it before Thanksgiving!" She made her own gift, announced with her challenge, kicked off at 8amCT July 20, 2018.
