Joseph Woodson Arnett, 89, Green Co., KY (1928-2018)

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was a farmer and a mechanic. He was a member of a large, respected Green County, KY, family. He was the son of the late Lewis Arnett and Goldie Mae Nelson Arnett, and the widower of Mary Ruth Bright Arnett, his wife of almost 63 years. He leaves 14 direct living descendants. His final resting place will be in Grab, Green County, KY.

Mr. Joseph Woodson Arnett, 89, of Green County, KY, sdeparted this life on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral services for Mr. Joseph Woodson Arnett will be conducted at 10amCT, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, 1096 Grab Road, Grab, KY. Bro. Jerry Wayne Scott and Bro. Garnett Wayne Davis will offiate. Visitation is requested 4pm-8pmCT, Monday, July 16, 2018, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Tuesday, until time of the funeral service.

Joseph Woodson Arnett, 89, Green Co., KY (1928-2018)

Mr. Joseph Woodson Arnett of Green County, KY, son of the late Lewis Arnett and Goldie Mae Nelson Arnett, was born on Friday, October 26, 1928 in Taylor County, KY. and departed this life on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in Glasgow, Barren County, KY. He was 89 years, 8 months, and 18 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was also a farmer and a mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 63 years, Mary Ruth Bright Arnett on October 11, 2011 having united in marriage on October 15, 1948.

Survivors include:
  • A daughter and son-in-law - Judy and Roscoe Janes of Green County, KY

  • A son and daughter-in-law - Mike and Vickie Arnett of Green County, KY

  • Five sisters and three brothers - Virginia Akin of Greensburg, KY; Clayton Arnett of Hart County, KY; Catherine Simpson of Central City, KY; Ruth Simpson of Green County, KY; Noah Arnett of Hardyville, KY; Nettie Creason, Raymond Arnett, and Ruby Milby all of Green County, KY

  • Four grandchildren - Tammy Bryant, Cindy Scott, Josh Arnett, and Katie Rafferty all of Green County, KY

  • Seven great-grandchildren = Keith Bryant, Wayne Bryant, Heather Scott, Colton Scott, Macie Arnett, Hunter Arnett, and Lily Rafferty all of Green County, KY

  • One great-great-grandchild - McKinley Bryant of Green County, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Arnett was also preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Patty Wright on April 18, 2017; and Stephen Wright on March 28, 2017; and four brothers and a sister, Frank Arnett, Ed Arnett, Robert Arnett, Carl Arnett, and Martha Edwards.
