New photo with this story. Video may come shortly.

By Ed Waggener

It's been perhaps the most fascinating Mystery puzzle yet, combining imaginative photography, clues, hints, great guesses and finally, one person, Jill Petrey, solved the mystery.

Billy Joe Fudge had prepared a fourth clue, to be published today, if no one guessed correctly. We may never know that clue, Jill Petrey didn't need it.

Mr. Fudge writes: Yes, Jill Petrey, it is indeed a Bagworm and you are certainly deserving of a position on one of the Great Wooded South University think tanks."

The accompanying photo shows more the tiny creature's craft more clearly. A Billy Joe Fudge video is being prepped for prime time - we hope to have it online within 48 hours. "It actually shows the bagworm building its home," Billy Joe Fudge writes.

We hope to have more on this, later. Stay tuned.

Mystery 'UFO' #79588, a bagworm, more clearly, another way

2018-07-09 - Green Hills, Columbia, Adair County, KY - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge, President, Homeplace on Green River.
Columbia naturalist Billy Joe Fudge fully documented his observation of a little known phenomenon of nature, the bagworm at work building its 'castle.' or, in this case, its spacecraft. It took a lot of guesses and a lot of clues, but Jill Petrey finally figured it out, before the rest of us became stressed out, trying to unravel the mystery. Above, the bagworm is suspended by a tiny, super strong filament, not visible in the online rendering, and is very close to the ground. - EW. Photos (c) Billy Joe Fudge.
