A great time was had by all in a paraphrase of the great community scribes of olden days.

Despite sweltering heat, hillside parking at Lindsey Wilson College and other vantage points for miles around ground zero, the old fairground campus, now owned by Lindsey Wilson College, was jam packed with cars, picknickers, tailgaters, families, young lovers holding hands, and everywhere, photographers and videographers capturing another wonderful congregation of those who feel a special patriotic passion through pyrotechnics.

Happy 4th of July 2018 from Columbia and Adair County

Families lined the parking areas around the old Adair County Fairgrounds for the 2018 fireworks display, a 15-minute show filled with color, light and booms.

Better to be watching from a distance

A fireman's point of view from experience: it's better watching from a distance than right under the exploding fireworks! The Community Fireworks show for the 4th of July was seen by a few thousand people last night with the largest concentration of spectators in the Lindsey Wilson College parking lots. - LW
