One injured in a two vehicle collision in Metcalfe Co.

Steering wheel malfunction believed a factor in collision Sunday afternoon

METCALFE COUNTY, KY - Mon 2 Jul 2018) - Trooper Ricky Cross is investigating a collision that occurred on July 1, 2018 at approximately 5:38pmCT, on New Liberty-Big Meadow Road in Metcalfe County.



Thaddeus Westmoreland, age 21 of Edmonton, KY, was operating a 2005 GMC eastbound on New Liberty-Big Meadow Road when he had a steering malfunction.

Westmoreland lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the west bound lane, striking a 2010 GMC pickup, operated by Timothy Adams, age 28 of Knob Lick. A passenger, Ashley Westmoreland age 32 of Edmonton was transported by Barren/Metcalfe EMS to T.J. Sampson and was treated for minor injuries.

Thaddeus and Ashley Westmoreland were not wearing seat belts.

Timothy Adams, Holly Adams, age 27 of Knob Lick, and three juvenile passengers in his vehicle were all wearing seat belts and were uninjured.
