K-9 Gunner plays key role, again, in early morning arrest

K-9 Gunner and Officer Johnny Dial called after ACSO Deputy Joey Keith makes traffic stop, roadside investigation. With Gunner's help, Deputy Keith was able to locate, the report alleges, a small amount of methamphetamine inside the vehicle, which led to charges against 35 year old Columbia man, a passenger in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was cited and released.
Note - A charge is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a subsequent court of law.

COLUMBIA, KY - (Mon 2 Jul 2018, 5:08amCT) - Adair County Sheriff Harrison Moss reports that on Monday, July 2, 2018 at approximately 02amCT Adair County Deputy Joey Keith observed a 1998 Chevy driving carelessly and conducted a traffic stop on the Public Square. After a roadside investigation, Deputy Keith asked assistance from Columbia Police Officer Johnny Dial and K-9 Gunner.



With K-9 Gunner's help, Deputy Keith was able to locate a small amount of suspected methamphetamine inside the Vehicle and placed the passenger 35 year old Nathan Curry under arrest for possession of meth.

Curry was also arrested for an outstanding warrant.

The driver, 44 year old Carlos Grant, was cited and released for operating on a suspended operator's license.

Deputy Keith was assisted on the scene by Adair County Deputy Josh Durbin, Columbia Police officer Greer, CPD Officer Dial and CPD K-9 Gunner.
