D.A.R.E bag in Bengal RD stop allegedly filled with marijuana Taylor County incident: KSP alleges strong odor of marijuana coming from black 2010 Kia leads to search with consent. "D.A.R.E." (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) bag allegedly found containing several small individualized packages of marijuana. Individual arrested, lodged in Taylor County Detention Center. Nick Hale, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY TAYLOR COUNTY, KY (Mon 25 Jun 2018) - On Sunday, June 24, 2018 at approximately 1:34pmCT Trooper Marvin Blakey conducted a routine traffic stop on a black 2010 Kia on Bengal Road. Upon contact Tpr. Blakey detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle gave consent to search resulting in Tpr. Blakey locating a "D.A.R.E." bag containing a large amount of marijuana. BR> Inside the large bag were several small individualized packages of marijuana. Upon further investigation a back seat passenger, Kern Kost, age 20 of Campbellsville, KY, stated that the marijuana belonged to him. Mr. Kost was charged with trafficking in marijuana (8 ounces to less than 5 lbs.) 1st offense and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Kost was lodged in the Taylor County Detention Center.
